Hungry Birds

House of Heart

The  whorl of winter

lifts  the hem of  her skirt

unfurling  sunsets

of copper and gold.

Spring festoons the earth

with unfastening coils

tight throated corollas

of raw bursting blisters.

Warring birds swoop up

new born buds,

unwilling to wait for

summers red meat.

  1. Spreading wings
    catching
    spring air
    to lift me up
    fresh new
    beginnings
    old stories
    ending
    we set out
    for new changes
    like snow
    becoming rivers
    and buds
    plate up dinner
    for us
    hungry birds.

I thank you so much or the inspiration Heart. I love your images you created.
This be my take as the silly crow. I thank you for the smiles.

  2. Great alliteration/opening line for sure….I adore spring. The problem here is that it doesn’t last long, then the horrible heat of summer sets in. I have taken to feeding birds lately and enjoying the interesting little mix of those that visit me 🙂

  3. Beautiful as always dear Holly.. “Spring festoons the earth with unfastening coils” Yes spring is certainly unfurling as the leaves start to bud on trees.. And I have been watching the birds upon the feeders always a great pleasure..
    Sending you Sunny smiles
    Love Sue ❤
