no where near roses

redux

House of Heart

She is provocative,

at times she  is insolent.

Her concept of red is

 nowhere near roses.

The heart beat of longing

she is in search of kindling

ready to ignite.

When she disappears into despair

black magic brings her back.

  1. I like listening to music to get me back to myself, Holly. My brother, Randy, and I were listening to Yes, Eagles and Pink Floyd. I brought the party into a bit of quiet between us when we listened to Joni Mitchell singing, “Both Sides Now,” (10 or so years ago reboot) sung in a sadder, more world weary voice. “I really don’t know love at all,” was a bit of a a truism between my brother and I really knowing what a long lasting love is. Other than beautiful family ties. . .

      • Holly, I am happy you mentioned “Funny Valentine” since this can also be sentimental with nostalgia. I have had it get me teary eyed. Joni M sure does wonderful magic with her voice. I have to head off and listen to “Popsicle Toes.” 🙂 Hope your week has a nice high point in among the middle of the week moments. 🙂
